September 2022 Monthly Update - Written: 30 September 2022
A monthly update on what I have been up to in September 2022.
Hello! This month, we have a nix flake to run the PlaydateSDK tools, a new project and finally a new game.
Nix Flake for the Playdate SDK
Recently, I finished creating this nix flake for the Playdate SDK by Panic. It can be run using nix develop github:headblockhead/nix-playdatesdk
and lets you use the PlaydateSimulator
, the pdc
and the pdutil
.
Starting a new project!
I have started a new project, the picoDoomsdayMessenger - a LoRaWAN communicator device based in tinygo and made for the Challenger RP2040 LoRa. I am currently designing a PCB for it using the Easy EDA Designer.
A new game!
I have also started a new game for the Playdate console! It is very early in development ( AKA I haven’t started yet 😄 ) but the idea is for a game to help you practice musical rhythms and learn a song. You can see how it is going at the moment on my github page or in my other blog posts about this.
- 2023: This turned out to be a project that was simply too difficult to create, I am going to abandon this for now, perhaps in the future it could be a good idea to work on.
